I recently chaired a panel at the Global Leadership Summit in London (see Investing in the Sports Industry). The panel included Charles Baker (DLA Piper), Casey Coffman (Madison Square Garden), Keith Harris (Seymour Price), and Joe Ravitch (The Raine Group).
We covered a variety of topics during the panel. We analyzed investment trends; debated whether valuations are out of whack in the sports industry; discussed whether the prevailing business model (in which talent appropriates much of the value-added) is broken; and finally, commented on the effects of globalization on valuation.
